Context
The wheel was developed as a drive and steering module for AMRs. The challenge was to design around fixed motor and mechanical constraints while creating a compact, serviceable, and industrial-looking enclosure.
A motorised caster wheel designed to give AMRs controlled movement in multiple directions.
The project focused on turning a functional wheel module into a robust industrial product with its own identity, which looks strong enough for AMR use, and refined enough to stand as an independent product.
The wheel was developed as a drive and steering module for AMRs. The challenge was to design around fixed motor and mechanical constraints while creating a compact, serviceable, and industrial-looking enclosure.
Design a motorised caster wheel that feels strong, rugged, and production-ready.
The form had to work within tight internal constraints, support serviceability, and carry a distinct product identity beyond its use inside an AMR.

The metal body was shaped to feel solid, protective, and suitable for industrial use.
The enclosure was detailed to support easier access, maintenance, and part replacement.
Strong surfaces and graphic detailing helped give the wheel a rugged, high-quality character.
